Mary Jean Gibbons has been practicing therapeutic massage and bodywork for over 25 years. She believes that skillful, respectful & compassionate touch can help to create a healthy, balanced and harmonious life, and she strives to offer the best of what she has learned to her clients. Mary Jean brings bodywork methods from a variety of cultural traditions as well as elements of nature into her sessions; her work has been influenced by her personal practices of Yoga, Qigong and Mindfulness Meditation, and by her love of nature and the arts.
Mary Jean holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology/Fine Arts,and worked in the human service field for over a decade before beginning her bodywork career. She has studied Mindfulness Based Stress Management with the staff of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the Penn Program for Stress Management. She facilitates workshops on Creative Self Care using body treatments, gentle expressive movement and meditation, and she supports her clients in developing creative, unique approaches to their own self care. Mary Jean is available to speak to groups on the many benefits of massage, bodywork and meditation. In her spare time she enjoys family, friends, nature, music, art, books, and of course, receiving bodywork!
